About Barista Bee Coffee School
ABOUT BARISTA BEE COFFEE SCHOOL

Barista Bee was created to offer a tailored, hands-on learning experience where every class is personalized to the participant. Our teaching style adapts to your needs, ensuring that you leave with real confidence behind the coffee machine. Unlike larger schools, our classes are deliberately kept small, so you get time, attention, and plenty of practice. You'll not only learn how to make coffee but also understand the why behind each step, grinder adjustment, milk texturing, latte art, and café workflow. You'll walk away with the skills to step confidently into a café role or simply elevate your home coffee game. We value creating a supportive, professional, and relaxed environment, so learning stays fun and practical.

Barista Bee welcomes people of all backgrounds, cultures, and learning abilities. Coffee brings people together, and our training style is respectful, patient, and adaptable. We are also happy to accommodate different learning paces, language needs, or accessibility requests, just let us know when booking so we can make sure you feel comfortable and supported.

Each class is limited to just two participants. This ensures everyone gets equal machine time, individual feedback, and the chance to practise until things really "click." You'll never feel lost in a big group or like "just another number", you'll always be guided step by step in a way that makes sense to you.

Each session has one trainer, dedicated to working directly with you. With only two students per class, this means personalised attention, all your questions answered, and feedback in real time. Our trainers have years of café and teaching experience, so you're learning from people who not only know the craft but also know how to teach it effectively and patiently.

Two participants share one espresso machine. This setup is intentionally designed to give you: • More one-on-one guidance from the trainer • Extra practice time with minimal waiting The chance to learn by watching and practising alongside your classmate This mirrors a real café setting too, where baristas often share machines and workflow.

If you're just starting out, you have two great options: • Cafe Ready Barista Course: Our most popular option, designed to get you job-ready with plenty of hands-on practice, covering espresso, milk, latte art, and café workflow. • Coffee Fundamentals Course: A 3-hour introductory class that's perfect if you want a quicker overview of the basics but still detailed enough to build confidence.

Yes, you can technically book both in one day. However, we don't recommend it, as learning is more effective when spaced out. Coffee-making is a practical skill, and your brain (and hands!) retain knowledge better when you have time to absorb and practise between sessions. Many students find that doing them on separate days leads to stronger confidence and better skill development.

To become a barista, you need three key things: 1. Practical skills – Understanding espresso, grinder adjustment, milk texturing, latte art, and workflow. 2. Confidence on the machine – The ability to apply those skills under real café conditions. 3. Experience – Even if it starts with volunteering or trial shifts, practice in a café environment helps. Our Café Ready Course is designed to prepare you for this. While no course can guarantee employment, we equip you with the skills and confidence cafés are looking for. Many of our students successfully step into barista roles soon after completing the training.

Yes. At the end of your course, you'll receive a Certificate of Completion from Barista Bee Coffee School. This certificate recognises the skills you've learned and can be added to your resume when applying for café jobs.

Our classes are open to participants 13 years and older.

Completing a course with us gives you the hands-on skills, confidence, and certificate to apply for barista roles. While we cannot guarantee employment (since hiring decisions are up to each café), we do know that many students have gone on to secure jobs after training with us. We also share tips on how to approach cafés, how to talk about your training, and what employers look for, so you'll feel more confident when applying.
